Dimming for the C100
I wish it had a dimming feature...its so bright at night. Maybe in the future that will be added.

Re: Dimming for the C100
There doesn't seem to be any support for your request. I have no problem with the brightness of the display, day or night. it certainly doesn't light up my whole interior when I'm driving at night.
As I posted previously, if the display seems too bright, you can always get a small piece of window tint and place it across the display. Or you can use colored cellophane if you want to tint the display a different color.

Re: Dimming for the C100
i have been asking for a dimming feature ever since i got the unit. cheetah thinks otherwise. it's still a great unit, but it's also one of its greatest flaws, IMO. it also has a very annoying ~30Hz flicker.

Re: Dimming for the C100
you haven't looked at the unit and seen the flicker distraction it causes? it might not be so obvious looking directly at it, try putting it off to the side within eyesight and looking into the distance.

I have it mounted directly on my steering column. I use it as a speedo and clock. No reason for me to make it difficult to see by mounting it off to the side. ONLY visibility problem I have had was the display becoming invisible when direct sunlight hit it. Wouldn't matter if it was brighter or dimmer, it would still have that problem. If you are having flicker, then don't mount it off to the side. Clip it on your visor or drop it in the cup holder. Unless you are like me and using it as a speedo, there really isn't any reason to keep a close eye on it. Only problem I have encountered is the C100 taking a long time to lock on the satellites in cold weather. I don't think this has anything to do with the position of the satellites. It never happened during warm days. But I have driven for 5-10 minutes before locking on to the satellites. That seems like a pretty long time. I suspect cold weather has some kind of negative effect on it's operation.

Is it really that bright at night if you had to compare it to a BELscort detector in brightness what level would the BELscort be set at?

I have my RX-65 set at maximum brightness day or night. But it's hard to compare because the RD uses red as a display color and the C100 uses a pastel white. It may not be any brighter than the RD, but white shows a more visible spectrum than red or any other color.
