Default Damn kinda let down after seeing the gol 2008 laserjammer test.

Damn Im kinda letdown by the gol 2008 laserjammer test. not the test itself, just how poorly the zr4 did.

after reading that, I already had in my mind to work up some overtime to buy a LI quad head setup. but then I saw the test w/veil on a car w/zr4... Much much better. I believe the zr4's. just bought quite abit of more time on my car.

especially since I have no chrome/ or really flat spots on the car...

I had that feeling I was right, CM shots are just ok, soon as you pan away to HL's then PT's galore....................I predicted it.

The ZR3/ZR4 can do good as long as your car has NO hardpoints, or you take care of them.

Veil your lights, and remove your front plate if you have one or cover it with a laser shield...

You should be ok... but still don't expect any JTG on anything but a PL3

VEIL, G4.

And get serious with de-chroming/de-badging, too.

That's the only way.....

Thankfully on the GTO, there is not much to de-chrome!

If you have fog lights I would cover them as well.

06blackgto:

All hope is not lost. Erickonphoenix has a very simmilar setup and has had good results on his vette, and I am sure his GTO will do good as well (if he uses the same countermeasures)

Depends on the chrome. Some chrome is virtually invisible since it is angled up:
Sample reflectivity profile

I was pretty disappointed in the results as well. One thing that's got me curious is this, and I hope this isn't verboten, but...: What is the deal with Radar Roy's review then? I've seen several people, in my opinion, dancing around the matter. Seems to me either GOL or Radar Roy have either: 1) Performed inaccurate testing (poor install, whatever) or 2) Skewed results. Am I missing something?

I think RadarRoy is a little more biased than GOL. He beta tested ZR4 and he has some link to radarbusters.com that sells them.

His review was reasonably honest that he did say ZR4 was very sensitive to being perfectly level. Maybe the ZR4 has a very narrow beam and LI is known to be very powerful and may not be quite so sensitive (to perfect conditions).

I was seriously thinking of trying ZR4 but I'm gonna hold off now.
