I bought a Passport 9500 CI. I am thinking from a laser blocking perspective that the laser interceptor is better for the job. Will I have a problem installing both in the same places?
Check out this thread. I believe DJ is who you wanna ask this question to, he has a CI and I think would be able to answer anything about running LI and CI or mix and matching the 2. "c55" looks like the contact for laser interceptor on the forum so he would know also. here is the post that may answer it for ya.
The 9500ci's ZR4 laser heads are "smoking" when it comes to detecting laser. Yet everyone knows that the LI with its laser emitting diodes rules the roost for jamming. Simply put the 9500ci laser shifters into "receive only" mode, giving you unparalled laser detection, and use the LI for jamming. The 9500ci in conjunction with the LI gives you the absolute best radar and laser detection, plus the best laser jamming since the LI uses powerful laser diodes.
OF NOTE: I have been doing tons of testing of my 9500ci over the past few weeks ever since I permanently installed its antenna in front of the grille on my car versus my original and temporary test setup where I had its antenna mounted at the top of my windshield using an old 1980s vintage radar detector windshield mount. Surprisingly, the 9500ci antenna mounted in front of my car's grille performs nearly as good as it did when mounted near the top of my car's windshield! Weirdly, this applies mostly for K and Ka band. Its X band sensitvity definitely seems to have dropped slightly with its new and correct mounting location, yet K and Ka band seem to remain unaffected. I wonder if this somehow has something to do with the K and Ka band's higher frequencies. Anyway, this is what I have observed.

+1.
Until *specific* testing can be done to see that the ZR4 will not improperly "crosstalk" with the LI, I would also, given the strength of the ZR4 in terms of reception, utilize MEM's suggestion.
Early data, courtesy of Cbr, shows that using the ZR4/LI in-tandem, with both actively jamming, does not return with untoward behavior, but at the same time, early data from oahuyahoo suggests that the ZR3 is an issue. Given the similarities between the two, I'd say to just play it safe, and leave the ZR4 in "Receive Only" mode, at least for the time being.

I know my brain is feeling dizzy trying to keep up with all this laser jammer tech etc... kind of like the first time I looked at the V1 instructions for 30 second automute.
I turned my ZR4s totally off because of the false alerts. I am using my LIs only for laser protection. I am also worried about the cross talk. RacerX and I are planning to test my setup in a couple of weeks, with just the LIs enabled and with the LIs and ZR4s enabled at the same time. I also want to try a few runs with just the ZR4s to see if any of the firmware updates I loaded onto my 9500ci a couple of months ago helped the ZR4s at all.
Back to the OP's original question, if your installer is capable of properly installing a 9500ci, they should also be capable of installing an LI. Make very sure they install the heads completely straight and completely level. If not, jammer performance will suffer greatly.
