Sorry could not read your post, my eyes, my eys, well I guess it could have been posted in yellow, anyways, understood what your getting at.

I have a older Beltronics Vector 985, the thing is consistant, barely falses in my city, and as I just said, it always gives me enough time to slow from a real speed trap targeting me, my traffic direction. Hell it even gave me laser warning from scatter. I mount very high. I do salavate at those users, predominately rx65 that state 2+ miles of Ka warning, although it seems that there are on long strieghts, but there have been alot of in heavy traffic reports of great performance. But features lost in the rx65 modle compared to my older Vector prevent me jumping on an upgrade at the moment. The STi although pricey seems to have those features back. The Escort is just a great all around performer with decent laser detection to boot for what its worth.

My friend wants to sell me his 97xx or something like that. It's one of the mid-range models I believe. I was thinking about buying it really cheap just for the purpose of alerting emergency vehicles, picking up SWS and the compass. I don't know if it will interfere with my 8500 though. Since SWS is K band, it might interfere. Also I don't want unecessary crap hanging from my windshield. It will look too obvious.

Dont waste your money on the crappa. In order for you compass to work you need to calibrate it first pointing your car toward dead north. Also SWS is a joke. Roy even stated that it is hardly used and there is no real calling for it.

I think most anyone here trusts their (High-end) RD's (to an extent) along with some smarts, and their watchful eyes.
