I own a Cobra 9300 and I HATE IT!!! It goes off all the time saying Ka 1
and just stays on Ka 1 for like 5 mins at a time. The only thing that works on that thing is Laser but of course by the time that goes off its too late but I am looking for a good Deal on a X50. I live in Texas DFW area and Their were 5 cities in the area shooting Laser traps My Cobra went off when I went under the officer I think he shot the guy behind me. Cobra prolly has the worst pieces of c*** called radar detector. I want to complain to the company but I dont know how to do it and get a response.

    Default and

I will respond to this post because I can. Let's not forget how much the newer Cobras set off our higher end V1, BelEscort, and Whistler units.

Any think that Cobra will produce a better unit now thst Whistler had up'd their game with the New Pro78/xtr690? Or do you think they will come out with a 14 band unit that sniffs out the local Donut shops. Oh wait they are producing a GPS model, right?

    Default good

Good questions RadarHell. Not sure. What Cobra needs to do is to shield the oscillater from all the leakage they put out. Then, maybe the users of the V1,Bel,Escort, and Whistler won't be getting false alarms from the "leakage" off of a Cobra. I wonder how hard this would be for Cobra to actually accomplish?

Most likely not hard, just lazy and cheap.

Why dont other detector makers add a cobra band detector? When it detects a cobra, it nails them with Ka constantly at full blast!

I think you'd be better off hitting them with X band. Cobra's can't detect Ka.

The number of Cobra electronic design patents regarding radar detector electronic circuit design? ZERO. Well, actually they do have one patent which describes gluing some dielectric resonators inside the radar horn to reduce the LO emissions from the radar detector. Yet I don't think that Cobra has ever used their own patent in any of their radar detector products.

I've said it before that the only thing which a Cobra radar detector is good for is to use its lit display as a map light at night.
