I won a cheap 9930 on eBay..... I know, I'm an idiot.....Well, maybe I'll give it to the wife when I get a real detector.....

Commence laughing and heckling. I deserve it.... I've now wasted around $150 on steaming piles of poo that I could have used for a Pro78 or low end Bel. Damn that eBay....

OUCH! that's a LOT of money, and you're definitely right -- it could've been XTR-690 or Pro-78 money.

These are apparently the same detection platform as the XRS-9300 I own. From that, I can say what I've always said about Cobras:

(1) When they work, they have plenty of range, similar to Whistler
(2) They don't always work, especially on Ka band. When they don't work, they either stay silent or alert at 10ft.
(3) They misalert to Ku band for non-Ku encounters.
(4) They will set off other detectors like hell. Please turn off VG-2 detection
(5) Decent laser sensitivity. Slightly better than Whistler.

Yep, VG-2, Ku, POP, and Spectre ship off by default.... I don't need any of that on anyway, so.... no big deal. K and Ka are my concerns around here. It did the same as the Whistlers on K and averaged 200 feet less than them on 34.7 Ka, which, I guess, is what I need to look for on the Stalkers, right? Eh, we'll see.

Well, Ka is your killer there. Cobras are just fine if you use them for X and K. As I've said before, I've sat literally NEXT to a cop shooting instant-on Ka and the detector did not alert at all. Ka's the only thing I would not trust my Cobra on.

Let me reinterate that I didn't spend $150 n one detector, but on three. Three bad detectors, lol. My financial bondage is almost over though so I will upgrade pretty quick.
