No one start up the Crapra thing, I know its not a V1. I'm just relating an experience.
So, the 9930 I picked up off eBay and have had in the wifey's car for about 9-10 mos started to go ka crazy as of late. I called Cobra just to get a price estimate as to a repair/tune-up. I told them: I got this thing off eBay (new, but still), I don't have a receipt. So, I'm not looking for anything free here, just a price.... Well, the customer service person on the other end said: "You want us to fix a 9930? It's not working right? That model's too new to screw up. Send it to us explaining the issue and we'll fix it free."
Cool, I thought. At least they have good customer service, regardless of the rep the product has. Well, I sent it off two weeks ago and had a box on my doorstep today. To my surprise, they evidentally decided not to even worry about it and sent me a new-in-box 9940. Not bad! Not bad at all!
Please, no Cobra flaming. Just thought I'd mention their customer service. Belscort won't even get back in touch with me after sending an email and leaving a message about sending in my 8500 for a tune-up. If nothing else, it might come in handy for some of you who own their CBs or FRS radios, or GPS's.
