That's how my detector would look if I mounted it that high. Call me stupid, but I don't understand how everyone can mount their detector so straight. I always mount mine close to the high part of my dash above the windshield wipers because of this. Could someone tell me what the secret to mounting it straight and high is?

Put on your prescription glasses so that you can see what the hell you are doing?

Haha. I've tried and tried to get it to mount straight but all of my RD's just want to hang there. Again, that's why I have to mount it on the high end of the dashboard.

If your RD has a metal bracket, bend it to match your needs. Other RDs have a slide-out design which means that the bracket is fixed and as the RD slides into it the RD hits the windshield. Push the RD further in and the front of the RD (that is hitting the windshield) slides down the windshield and being that your mount is stationary, forces a change in angle. This is how the V1 (and I believe some Bel models) work.

One other thought...if you're operating a Cobra, just take it down. The falses that my V1 receives from it are pissing me off. =)
