My friend drove to Jacksonville and I sent my 695 with him so I used the Cobra for about 2 days. I have to say though, the 9960G performed pretty well and it did its job.
First save I had was in Milton turning right off of highway 90. I was going 60 and soon after that my detector began alerting to 34.7 ka band. I slowed down to 45 and about 3/4 of a mile up I see a state trooper facing me over a hill. Someone behind me was speeding over the hill, I imagine he was going 60 like I was and he got pulled over.
Second save was last night while taking the gf home. I was driving down Mobile Hwy when I started getting blips of K band at inconsistent intervals.(Not a lot of traffic at 2 in the morning around this area.) The guy in front of me was going over the hill when I get another K alert, this time this one was stronger. Went up to 3/5. The car hit his brakes(possible radar detector user or maybe he just saw the cop?) I came up the hill and I get a full blast of K band. There was an Escambia County Leo sitting in his patrol car in the Waffle House parking lot. Total range of detection was about a mile.
I get the 695 back again today. Despite the fact that the Cobra does its job well it falses to other detectors too much. Cobra really needs to work on that. For once in these encounters the ramp up worked like it was supposed to.
