Cobra Radar/Laser Detector (ESD9117) @ Circuit City

I bought this Radar Detector (Cobra ESD9117) at Circuit City on Black Friday for $50 and so far it works okay. It's now $60 and I drove past a police car once and it only went to Level 2. I still haven't got a Level 5 yet, but my friend has got it several times. Does anyone know if this is a good radar detector or should I return it? Have any of you run any tests on it? The actual retail price is also $100.

Don't waste your money on a Cobra, there pathtic. But for $50 I would keep it as a back up and spent more money on a Bel. or Whistler if money is an issue. Remember you get what u pay for.

No, it does not have POP.

Yes, the Whistler pro-58 would be much better.

In a nut-shell it like instant-on radar but alot faster.

also remember that its a radar detector, not a cop detector. you couldve been getting a false when you passed that cop.

Considering that you're running a Crapra, I'd put my money on that. The cop probably wasn't even running radar.

Return the Crapra and get a Bel 795 at Radio Shack or a Whistler Pro-58 from Roy.
