Default Cobra user claims it saved him $$$$

I had a discussion w/ a Cobra user on the CB radio the other day I just had to mention. The Cobra user claimed his Cobra rd has saved him at least $1200 in fines so I got on the CB and mentioned how either of my Whistler,Beltronics,Escort or V1 rd's have saved me $10,000-20,000 in fines. The Cobra user claimed it is a great rd and I just laughed and said I hope he goes up against 35.5 ka band w/ that Cobra to see what it can actually do as compared to the Whistler,Beltronics,Escort, or V1. Cobra users sometimes don't want to give in which is their own fault or stupidity.

A Cobra user on the CB? I hope he wasn't using one of those leaky things in a truck?

I find a lot of leaky detectors were from trucks when I ran the STi-r with RDR off.

I am sure his Cobra cb radio has saved him a lot more times and $$$ than his Cobra radar detector. He must not run in Texas very much either..Spectre..

Sounds like another trucker telling a whopper of a story...

We have both heard a lot of those .

I found a lot too with ka guard off, nothing worse then passing another big rig and getting an alert when you get side by side. Ka guard on has resolved 99% of those.

The Placebo Effect is extremely powerful, as is the phenomenon of Confirmation Bias.

Basically any time these guys pass a cop they think it was a "save." In reality, the cop might not have had his radar on, or was shooting traffic in the other direction, or was filling out paperwork and forgot to turn his RADAR unit off, or the guy wasn't going fast enough to warrant a pull-over, or any of a thousand other reasons why he didn't get a ticket.

Lol its a true story, to be honest the only thing I thought was cool about the Cobra was when it alerted of Emergency Vehicles. That was cool lol..

I think Cobras should be hardwired into LEO cruisers so for the rest of us, our RD's will really be cop detectors
