    Default Pushing Cobras

I drive across the desert pretty often, and that takes me into truck stops on each trip.

In each truck stop, Pilot, Flying J or whatever - in a glass case in the store sits the usual fare. Cobras, and more Cobras. And I'm not talking about CB radios. I'm curious if anyone knows a trucker who runs with a detector (which is illegal for truckers in the first place). A Cobra has got to be the easiest detector to pick up with a RDD.

Next time I'm in a truck stop, I'll ask the person behind the counter if they sell many, and who buys them.

The ones near us have the usual suspect: Cobras... but I know the one closest to me sells Sti's, 9500ix's, x50's etc

x2, i saw an advertisement for the Redline in the bathroom of a truck stop. (it was a magazine posted on the wall with a bunch of ads. The redline caught my attention)

They (truck stops) must sell a fair amount of cheap rd's. Lot's of unknowing tourists passing through. I bought a brand new 995 (S7) for $149.00 at a flying hook. It was on "clearance".

I have a friend of mine(trucker) that ran / runs Detectable RD's from Cobra's to Non M3 Escorts and doesn't even give it a second thought.

Last time I was in a truckstop was about a year ago. They did have a few cobras and whistlers but the one I was interested in was the Sti Driver. Was really close to buying it. But I just stop in to look at the CB's.

I'm like everyone else, as far as what they have seen in truck stops. I honestly see just as many Beltronics and Escort products as I do Cobra products around here. Last year, I took a trip for work up to Ohio, and came across a truck stop that was going out of business. They had all of their electronics marked down quite a bit, including their radar detectors. I came damn close to purchasing an sti. I believe they had it marked down 25 percent off of their normal price, but I don't recall what that price was.

As for knowing any truckers with radar detectors, I don't. I did see a UPS truck at a Walgreens in my town, with what I think was a Cobra, though. I didn't get a close enough look at it to be certain.

A couple weeks ago I got a Ka false on my V1 from a speeding truck, verified with the arrows. I didn't look to see what he was running but it must have been something crappy.
