    Default most excellent I/O detection

MY XRS cobra 9000 series continues to pleasantly surprise me. Had a pretty fair far off detection today that was I/O

over and over and over it picked up the pulses till I saw the LEO on KA band.

The Cobra locked onto these random pulses and never let go

Cobra bashers claims these new Cobras can't detect I/O whatsoever are completely full of it.

I regularly pick up I/O with the Cobra and at very good distances indeed.

well not exactly as he never shows this to be true in any way whatsoever but only makes a unsubstantiated assertion.

and there are plenty of detectors that won't do it either in the top end of the spectrum

this isn't mentioned of course since it doesn't fit into bashing Cobras

My whistler 78 se is often oblivious to quick radar signals in my personal tests and it's claimed to be one of the most reactive detector to these signals !

MY Bell detectors often do this too.

So It could honestly be said with a few words changed

"Yes current detectors will react if's its over a second but under a second good luck ! "

apparently only the v1 will do this reliably

but in all my years as a detector user I can honestly say I was never blindside this way.

Q/T is more a figment of some fevered imaginations then it appears in real life.

    and why shouldn't it be.

when use properly I/O is all any ardent traffic enforcer ever needs.

I beg to differ about Q/T. I have experienced it personally from Alabama State Troopers around the Mobile, Al. area. Escpecially, the trooper who operates in the western part of Mobile County on the rural roads. He is a sneaky, and unmistakably user of Q/T. I had the opportunity to witness him in action by following him for almost an hour and observing his tactics.

Oh, a few officers out there that might do this.

I am also sure there are a hell of a lot more officers out there that don't and instead choose their victims carefully.

Basically all a officer has to do is be a bit picky using his radar

btw how do you know the officer was doing this? Just curious.

where you riding around in his squad car?

a officer needed never even do this and I am sure this is why they don't bother. All he has to do is point his radar at a blind curve and I/O you as you come into view. Even the best detectors won't get the signal.

q/T is no guarantee of catching speeders even if it's used.

Normal detectors will grab onto the signal from my experience trying this if they see it a few times and this is how I/O and q/T are used.

    too randomly check speeds

it's not at all like the fastest pop mode by far.

I remember one encounter with my v1. Country road with many open curves. Got the faintest slightest k-band signal possible which I dismissed at the time as random noise.

MY v1 always picked up k-band far better then that if it was a cop.

Police car came right around a curve and I/O's me with the V-1 k band sound of death.

got less warning then my old Cobra gave !

I believe situations just like this are why people scream their detector doesn't work properly

Since I live in the land of the radar detector ban (Virginia) and don't use my RD much, I have never come across any LEO's using I/O. Since there are supposed to be no RD's in use here, most LEO's use C/O (I've heard of some I/O use).
