umm, it's a chicken test for sure but I have seen this model operating with these models and I have see no drematic performance fall off whatsoever.
Your assertion that all Cobra's leak like sieves isn't valid as this would imply that they false to many other detectors viciously and frankly they just don't DJ.

The truth of the matter is that Cobras leak like a sieve, nore than any other brand I've tested. Anyone with a Spectre can attest to that.
as I pointed out before spectre is designed to catch LOW SIGNALS OTHER THEN THE RADAR BANDS, otherwise it would false to every door opener from here to Timbuktu

A leaky detectos LO emissions may or may not make another detector alert, but that has less to do with the leaky detector and has more to do with how well other detectors filter out the detectors with the leaky LOs. LO emmisions have 2nd and third harmonics that sometimes fall into the K and Ka band. Other detectors have to filter these signals out.
It depends on the original low freq where these harmonics will fall.
These l/O's have been changed in freq. to minimize these effects do you know in almost all newer detectors
Newer spectres have been redesigned to rediscover these new freq btw.
It doesn't mean they are in the radar bands

It's more complicated than this , but basically, detectors filter leaky detectors by verifying that the K or Ka band signal that they have detected, is not accompanied by the corresponding first and/or second harmonic. Having to constantly filter this stuff lowers their performance of the detector having to filter out the leaky Cobra and raises the radar detection noise floor.
Your now as it commonly called "moving the goal posts"
It isn't enough that new Cobra's have been proven NOT to set other detectors off like a A bomb air raid
you want them to play together perfectly nice too. LOL ! :)
well, from what I have seen now many many many many times as YOU WELL KNOW ;) detectors users have this same problem running very high end Rd units together that aren't "stealth-ed"
not just Cobra's
inspite of their superior filtering.
But if you like you can run your Escort 95ooI together with the Cobra and see what you get.
:)
Re: excellent off axis reception
I wouldn't run ANY detectors together unless one were stealthed and then I would be suspicious STILL !
I can't wait to see what this will lead to in the Cobra basher community.
"My Bell/ escort/other lost range probably because a stupid cobra was around ' ;)
Re: excellent off axis reception
No one is moving any goalposts. I'm just trying to explain to you why your assumption that one detector alerting to another detector is equivalent to interference is incorrect and also why your assumption that LO leakage is unrelated to detector interference is also incorrect.

sure you are but I don't mind to much.
let me get this right :)
1) "My assumption that one detector alerting to another detector is equivalent to interference is incorrect "
2) "My assumption that LO leakage is unrelated to detector interference is also incorrect."
um well not exactly there DJ
1) what would YOU call a detector alerting to another detector exactly if it isn't interfering in that detectors proper operation ? ;)
I believe even Mike/V calls it that in his webpage on running detectors together
2) L/O leakage unrelated to detector interference ?
Hardly, if that is what you believe, I believe. I believe. :)
Of course it does if the l/O is sending out radar emission freq in the traffic radar bands.
Just because a spectre can pick a detector l/O up doesn't necessarily mean the low is emitting heavily in the radar bands
Re: excellent off axis reception
It's a interesting topic but I will have to vamoose soon. Do a video operating the Cobra and Escort together and see what you get. ;)
Re: excellent off axis reception
So according to this thread:
1. Cobras don't leak LO emissions worse than any other detector.
2. Your Cobra is as good or better than a V1
3. Your Cobra has excellent off axis reception.
4. Cobra picks up I/O better than the V1
Your either a troll or a Cobra rep.

Frankly your the one trollimg here once again on the Cobra forums.
and I proved your nothing but a cobra basher a short time ago too
remember that far ago.
Sure because I happen to like my detector and don't like clueless Cobra bashers such as yourself running it down I am a Cobra rep. :)
BTW I doesn't recall ever claiming my Cobra was better then my v1 but as a matter of fact it no doubt is. :)
and this is a real factual statement I am telling you now. LOL !
Re: excellent off axis reception
DG I don't believe filter alone accounts for my other detectors not going off to these Cobras.
As I recall I tested my unit against some terrible filtered older super wide band detectors and it had no effect on them either.
