Default I wonder if Cobra could circumvent escort gps lockout this way

Instead of completely locking out the false signals get around this patent another way.

a special low tone muted alert to signify false signals?

    or something else

    any ideas ?

I think they should focus on picking up radar first.

For $300 I sure hope it isn't as bad as the $35 versions.
    Untill I see some legit testing to prove otherwise,Cobra = wal-mart crap....period.

You may want to reference DJ's Cobra/Stir test with I/O on this one.

I find this review as legit and unbiased as Radar Roy's review of Veil Steath coating.

    POP Radar and range?

Too many Cobras around to run Ka guard off.
many other detectors "leak" also such as cheap whistler models

    Re: Laser ALLY

    Laser jammers don't work.
    Only cobra radar detectors work.

When Cobra shows it can make high-quality Radar Detectors, on par with an STi-R Plus, 9500ci, or the Escort Redline, then they should work on the added features. The XRS-9990 that you mentioned is a step in the right direction. It's a hell of a lot better than other Radar Detectors I've seen Cobra make in the last ten years.

They should also get rid of that '16 band detection' advertisement crap.

It's not like they don't have the ability to make good stuff, they make pretty good CB radios (always have).

Maybe Cobra can show they can hang with the big boys, we will see.

    unfortunately silly ads work

yes, I too hope the silly advertising disappears but that doesn't mean these are bad detectors whatsoever.

Not nearly at all as bad as many still think they are.

I believe soon you will be seeing what you are asking for.

There is a brand new Cobra line coming out soon that promises much more sensitivity

the features are also nice to have thou.

I like one in particular that silences radar alarms when your driving very slow and don't need radar warnings.

    Very nice indeed.

with the gps module it also gives your speed and advanced warnings of speed traps and other good stuff.
