Default Why does my X50 ver 5 always false?

Everytime I drive by a building with automatic doors my detector goes off. Is this a false positive or do they all do that?

Most automatic doors run off the same frequency as K-Band or X-Band radar. You radar detector is doing it's job by alerting you to this, however it is not really a radar gun.

If you're not already doing so, try the auto mode or a City mode on your detector, that might help cut some of these alerts out.

and set it on CityLoX when running City mode, I found it to help with the falses in many areas I frequent, as long as they're X not K.

You folks must deal with some X falses that are WAAAAAY stronger than what I do. I just run the standard city mode, and i've never had a false punch through on X unless I was in a parking lot right in front of a door opener.

Cause X-band has been shown to keep poping back up...Police are using people ignoring X-band to their advantage

    Default Still Using X Band

I stated on another post, they still use X band here in Indiana. I was just in Ennis TX near Dallas and I ran into a Wise County Cop using X band. They also use them here in Indiana. Don't take the risk and turn X off, you will regret it!!!! If it really bothers you, reduce the sensativity if you have an X50

Find out what the locals and state cops run on and program the unused bands out of the detector. For instance, if I only drove in NY then I would remove X detecton from my X50 because they don't use X here. However, they do in NJ and I do a LOT of driving there.... Or, run in CITY or AUTO mode. :?
