    Default 9500ci w/ V1 observation

I am on a road trip with my newly installed RD setup, and have a few observations I thought would interest a few here. I have a 9500ci with the antenna centered in the front grill, combined with a hardwired, high mounted V1. The ci has everything on except sws, and the V1 has everything on as well. Initially with the ci running on autoscan mode, it would alert first before the V1. In highway mode I had basically the same alert status, i.e., the ci would alert before the V1. When I got into California where x is not an issue, I set the 9500ci to AutoNox. I started to notice at this point the V1 would alert first to k, and Ka, at times long before the 9500 would. I then reprogrammed the 9500ci to run with x off, and then switched to highway mode. After I did this the 9500ci started alerting to Ka, and k, at times long before the V1 would. The only time the V1 alerted first after reprogramming the 9500ci was when I was directly behind a semi truck, and I think the truck was obstructing the view of the ci antenna to some extent, regardless, the V1 alerted to Ka first. I also experienced a few times when one or the other would not alert at all, and the other would. It didn’t seem to matter to what band it was receiving either, and it was random as to which would alert and which would not. I guess the real issue I am trying to point out is that when the 9500ci is in AtuoNox, its sensitivity seems to diminish quite a bit.

    I think that's interference?

what if you run the v1 on KA only and the ci in w/e mode you want

oh and i've found that in Auto no X it still picks up x..just doesn't alert to it.

    *edit*
i know you live in Oregon so KA only kinda sucks

I haven't noticed a difference in sensitivity between Auto and AutoNoX, but my 9500ci is pretty new. I also noticed that it still gets X band hits and AutoLearn is still working on X band even in AutoNoX.

I agree, running 2 detectors that close is risky. One CAN play with a setup like that....but we all know that it can produce confusing and useless data.

One interesting tidbit...I put a old escort clone mounted in the back window.(which for its day was rated very good in Ka but terrible in X and so so in K band).

I then put a um...bel 985 in the front window mounted high....the result were basially cheap arrows like the V1 and I didnt seem to find any interference. Upon testing I found the old excort clone (cobra 412SW) didnt leak much.

AutoNo-X filters K band besides turning off X, plus its dependant on speed so the results will vary.
Auto mode is similar with little to no filtering of K and heavier filtering of X, its also dependant on speed.'

KA is not filtered in any setting.
