In the 2007 GOL RD tests the Escort 9500i compared very favorably with the V1 in most tests in terms of detection distance.
In the 2009 tests, the 9500ix got smoked by the V1 in almost all tests.
I'd very much like to hear from the actual testers themselves why they think there is such a large discrepancy between these two tests.
A few factors come to my mind:
A. Different test course and scenarios revealed different strengths & weaknesses.
B. Production quality variances between the 9500i tested in '07 and the ix's tested in '09.
C. Design changes from the "i" to the "ix".
D. Because the V1 is king and everything else made is a POS.
