    Default RX65 ramp up

I have tried three RX65's. I returned them because they never ramped up to full alert. This was the case even if I stopped in front of a K band door opener. I owned a V1 ver. 1.8 previously and now own an X50 (2). Both of these units ramp up to full alert. Anyone shed any light on this? I really liked the RX better for it's display, size and sensitivity, but I could not get by the slow ramp up. Beltronics tech told me it must be my vehicle. (I don't think so)

How much warning did it give you on speed traps? The real measure of a radar detector is when starts making noise, not how much noise it makes when you're already on top of the radar source.

    Default ramp up

The range on all bands was very good. What concerned me is the unit would alert and then very slowly ramp up to three or four bars and Surprise! there was the trooper. I guess it would be a matter of adjusting to the characteristics of the unit. I like the rd to scream when you get close to the enforcer.

Scott, I have the RX65 also and I haven't had any problems with it going FULL TILT. Here's something you can try on your settings, though:

Set mode to THT so it displays a numerical value on the strength rather than using the meter or the TEC mode which displays actual freqs. You may see that it does go FULL TILT different than what you're used to. One thing for sure, it ain't your vehicle...
