This seems like a pretty decent review:

Has anyone purchased the full 12 page PDF review? How good are their testing methods etc.?

Craig Peterson must have revised that review, because the original date of that thread is 4/5/05 and the review date is 7/14/05.Originally Posted by jimbonzzz

I do. I have the full review, I got it July 2004. It's a PDF file.
That's kinda funny that they each have rants about each other on their websites:

I bought this review. However, CP's review is comparable to what other reviews have said. Perhaps we need affermative action to unbias the reviews. Just because there is some slight factual errors does not invalidate the entire review. I find it kind of funny that on Valentine's website they still quote a review from 2002. And that test others said was biased. It is what it is folks. One persons test, review, and opinion. Let's each make up our mind for ourselves based on the information thats out there. Valentine 1 is not totally superior to every other detector nor is the RX65 or the passport 8500x2. They each have their strengths and weeknesses. Overall I would say they are all comprable.
I have the "MegaTest" 21 detectors under $150 pdf...
I've always wanted to read that but never could bring myself to spend $15 on it. Someday I probably will though.
This is 100% true couldnt have said that better myself, SO many people forget that. This remark itself should be a sticky....all brand drones beware.Originally Posted by mplsfalls
People get so caught up in brand bashing and brand pr*stituting (exposing and plugging into everything how great 'their brand detector' is) that they try and push people to say 'A' is 100% always superior then 'B'...when it comes to the "big 3" (RX65,x50,V1) that just isnt true at all, its all give and take.
(Now granted I myself joke about the detectors...thats the whole thing I joke around about the ackowledged weaknesses of all the detectors [which every detector is bound to have])...
I love when some preople try to explain why in a certain instance a detector may/may not be right for the person (and actually recommened a -different one- then they own *gasp*) Yes we will all have our opinions, so we will always have a little bias in us...but as stated overall the 'big 3' are very comparable in the end each with trade-offs.
It is like the old 1K rocket wars in the motorcycle industry these days...
You have:
ZX-10R
GSX-R1000
Yamaha-R1
CBR1000RR
Each have their mindless drones, but in the end they are all so cutting-edge, so good, so close in performance, its simply a toss up each with its own areas of strength/weakness (People are really just starting to realize this).
