Easy now.........it's virtually unbeatable on K-Band and still very quick on Ka. We just found a Bel that can go toe to toe and possibly win the fight!
Wasn't there something wrong with K band on the tested sti-r or did you use the other?
The STi-R in our test caught only 1 shot under .5 seconds the entire test. As an aside, we tried a trick that works on my RedLine and also on CJR238's to make the M3 greased lightening on K-Band. We turned off Ka! With Ka band off, my RedLine will not miss a K-Band QT and CJ's 9500ci caught 3 of 5 shots under .2 seconds.

But this same trick had NO effect on Riptide's STi-R. It still would not pick up anything below .5 on K-Band.

When he returned home, he and RadarRob checked out Rob's STi-R on K-Band with Band Seg and RDR off. Riptide said Rob's STi-R caught every shot pulled with a Z35 MPH gun. So Rip is sending his STi-R in to get it checked. It's possible that a properly functioning STi-R could have given a perfect run in our test with BandSeg and RDR OFF applied.

I think another thing came out of your testing, a lot of RD's are not working properly. Seems we have heard of quite a few STi-Rs that have bit the dust and had to be returned not to mention V1s needing the so called tune ups every year or so.

Great test guys. Nine_c1, you really organized the results quite well.

The M3/V1 interference discovery is pretty huge; it's too bad they can't work perfectly together. So I guess the best defense against QT is now a Bel STi-r (with Band Seg and RDR off) and a Redline (with Ka band off).

Yes definitely, although you may not need the Redline, further testing when my STi-R comes back fixed will be done. Or **** we could do some with radarrob's I just didn't have a stop watch with me at the time, maybe we shall see on sunday if the STi-R is the king of QT K and Ka!

I think we should remember that this test was only 35.5 Ka. I think there is a very good chance that things would change with a 34.7 or 33.8 Ka radar unit.

First and foremost: Thanks, thanks, thanks for the testing and extensive time that goes into such investigation all around the table for those working on this! (CJR238, RipTide, Nine_C1)

    Now:
Does Escort purposely F-up good things... or is it just an accident?

I mean, look at the old-@$$ S7 murder the M4 across the Q/T board... it isn't gentle, it manhandles that M4 for Q/T

Top that off with getting rid of some of the best features they came out with in eons (if not for this... there are other reasons): RDR-off and band-seg...

And we are left with usual Belscort blaaaa.

Interesting V1/9500ci combo side-bar at the end too mates!

PS: At the end CJR... (personal moments) you say you turn 'on' your V1... you mean off there methinks! (Just an edit note)... as I took a double-take.

True. I'd bet the V1 with POP on would do better against Ka 33.8 than it did in this test.

Beat me to it, that's what I was thinking.

Good job on the testing, good results. Thanks guys. Sunday hopefully we can get a chance to mess around with the RD's at the jammer meet as well.

I've never encountered a real 33.8 threat so I can't comment on that but I can say my STi-R is much hotter on 34.7 than it is on 35.5 so
