    Default Dear GOL......

I beg you to test this...test the Escort Redline and the Valentine 1 separately and then test them together in the same car. Many people seem to like to run both so I want to know if running both is worth the money and extra hassle, or if it makes no difference, or if it is counterproductive and hurts the range of one or both units. Then I would also be curious as to how far they need to be mounted away to avoid interference, and how mounting at least one vertically would impact performance due to both the angle change and the increased/decreased potential interference. If this has already been covered forgive me but I am yet to see any type of scientific testing that has tested these two units separately and together on the same course, and then drawn conclusions on simultaneous use with regards to how their mounting distances/locations may or may not impact performance. So, in a nut shell, is using two extreme performance detectors worth it? I pick the Redline and V1 given they are really the industry standards and fan favorites.

Yes, this would be a great test. I run the V1 and STi R Plus and would like to confirm what I'm hearing about running two detectors. I would take it to extremes and run the units side by side and run one at the front bumper and one at the rear window. Look at sensitivity and response time. Nine C1, Riptide, and CJR did a study that showed the V1 interfered with the 9500ci but more testing would be helpful and moving the units to different locations would also help to clear it up. CJR moved his V1 to the rear deck to minimize interference and he noticed a difference. Others run the V1 on the window and 9500ci and don't get interference. I don't know what makes two units play well together on one encounter but interfere on the next.

Running both detectors is not good.now running rdr on on the stiR with v1 at same time is fine.

Did you mean to say that running with Plus with RDR Off and the V1 at the same time is OK? Running the Plus with RDR On would be the same as running the 9500ci. RDR Off would reduce the filtering on the Plus and I think would make a difference. Thanks!

My guess would be decreasing the filtering has to increase sensitivity, and "cancels" out the potential for interference.

    OR

That RDR on blocks out the interference, and it runs like normal, since that's RDRs purpose.

Dear GOL, can you give me the cough test? Thanks.

Given no band segmentation exists on the RL/STiD, do you think they would negatively impact the V1 and vice versa? My S7 RX-65 does not play well with my V1 even in USA mode, although IIRC that isn't exactly the same thing as RDR on the STiR+ but it isn't completely different either.

Yes, the V1 will interfere with the Redline and Driver. We have seen the V1 interfere with the 9500ci so I would think that it will interfere with these units. That being said, many will still use two detectors because of the benefits.

Do the benefits outweigh the harm/costs/hassle?
