Looks like our first Radar Detector "Easter Egg"!!
Good find!
I have the V1.8 POP1 with software version 3.817 and V1 offers a free upgrade to the POP2 with version 3.818. Do you think they will give me the 3.818 when I update or the 3.821 with these extra functions like 4RUNNER has??
this is why i didnt send my V1 in for any POP upgrade... its too early in the game to be messing about with sending your v1 off every 3 or 4 months.. valentine has a few more updates to release before i am sending it in. think of it as buying a 1st year production car.
Well I dont really think the new update truely does anything other then change the L, and A to a u and a big U.
Brent, don't you want to send in your v1 before summer time when all the other detectors will be on the road? I've seen my J feature used about 6 times this week.
Maybe Valentine's adding a feature to kill out everything except photoradar and laser. Or possibly something to detect the 9GHz variation of X band?
Maybe they've been reading our threads about narrow-band Ka for photoradar.
Honestly, the best way to get this question answered is to call VR. They ought to be more than happy to tell you what's going on. (They'll also probably tell you not to mess with it, which is what they always tell me ).
Here's what V1 e-mailed to me
As for the new firmware, Version 3.821 is strictly for European customers; it can be programmed to scan specific frequencies in order to enhance the detector's photo radar response.
So what did they email you?
RIP Duncan my BELOVED black lab son 8/7/99-3/23/11. I will miss you DEARLY.
