Default Audio tester for radar guns

Not sure what the best subforum to post this question is, but I figured there were some people here who own radar guns and check them with tuning forks, etc.

I remember seeing a program a long time ago that supposedly let you check the accuracy of your radar gun by pointing it at a speaker. The program was just a tone generator, but the math had already been done to correlate the speed reading with the output frequency. I think it was for X-band only.

I have been searching for this for a while but can't find it. Does anyone remember this?

If you could download a tone generator and do the math for the band and speed you want you would have the same thing.

    I suck at math though.

No, you're not imagining it. It was probably my "Radar Verifier" software:

After I read your post, I checked my site and found that the link was down, so I fixed it.

Please note that I wrote this back in 2005, I haven't tested it on 64-bit OS or Windows 7+.

    Enjoy!

    YESS! THANK YOU!

So I am not crazy. I do remember seeing this one a while back. I am going to download it again but as you say it may not run in win 7.

Also I remember seeing one in the 1990s that was a text based (DOS) program but my memory is even hazier on that...

Now all you need is a massive speaker on the front and back of your car roof and your all set.... Theoretically if this was loud enough I wonder if you could make a radar get some crazy readings.

That isn't as crazy a idea as you think pal.

Cover as much of the front of your car with radar absorbent materials and get a bunch of Mylar/metallic speaker cones.

of course you as the driver will need to wear a radar absorbent bat man outfit.
