The sample video has been updated to include footage from the Golf mount.

The Golf has sport wheels / suspension for a firm ride with good feedback (great for autocrossing). A person's weight does a good job minimizing any shake in the seat, so I'll have to either move the mount on the Honda to the driver's seat or come up with something else. On the flip side, the cushioning in the Pilot reduced the engine/vibration noise picked up by the mic - I had to reduce the sound level down more in the Golf footage.

P S - who made it sticky? i spent a good 15-20 mins browsing thru several pages looking for the thread to post the update. Until i found the link at the top right for all my posts ops:

Can you modify this idea a bit to work with RECARO seats?

I was thinking mounting the bar behind and using something to attach it to the center breathing hole.

Two choices.
1. Get one of the bigger u-bolts: same rod dia but curved in a larger radius that may just fit the holes in the seats; but the curved loop of the u-bolt will protrude out considerably behind the seat (an absolute no-no in terms of liability if someone sits in the back and hits head/face on bolt in an accident).
2. Same u-bolts but with longer "legs": space the holes for the u-bolts so that both legs of each u-bolt extend thru the slot; all four legs of the u-bolts then go thru holes in a long metal strip; essentially you sandwich the seat cushion between the seat slots - between the square tube and metal strip. The down side of this arrangement is that the u-bolt legs and wing-nuts will make a passenger quite uncomfortable.

I'll let you know if I think of something else.
