I once had a cop pull up next to me at a red light and verbally warn me (through my open window) to "keep it under the speed limit." I know for a fact that I was not speeding because when i passed him originally I saw him sitting there and made damn sure not to speed. Some cops see a Corvette as prima facie evidence of intent to speed, and treat you as guilty until proven innocent.

Of course, this guy had no actual evidence, which is why he didn't actually pull me over, but in his own mind he was positive that I was a violator.

In your case, the cop undoubtedly "knew" you were speeding, figured there was a problem with his LIDAR gun, and kept lighting you up hoping to get a "correct" reading.

Yep.

Any car built-for-speed or modified-for-speed MUST mean that the driver is a bat-outta-hell.

Although I don't get even 10% of the notice that I used to get, in my current car (which, despite its family-sedan pinnings, still does sport two rather embarrassingly large exhaust canisters on the back, and thus isn't completely off-the-radar), that I did my former vehicles (the typical selection of teenaged male Asians - DSMs), I still lament the fact that I did not listen to my wife, and obtain a station-wagon.

I'm just now, at the late-blooming age of 33, beginning to understand the benefit of "Sleeper."
