I always think of Mustang drivers as people stuck in the 1970s, who missed the memo that they just aren't cool anymore. And you can't get much more 1970s than with a CB!

I would say given the flow of traffic, and how wide-out in the open he was: A 5+mile warning would have been likely.
Come on DJ, you know you want one, that would have made that 'whoa' moment an 'ahhhh I know, he will be up here on my left' moment.
Sorry Brutha. Too damn ugly. If they made an antenna that wasn't gawd awful, maybe. Besides, driving by myself equals loud music. Driving with the woman and a CB equals no more woman. So, no dice on the CB.

Quick, name another convertible car with stock 300hp for $30,000. If you don't like my car, that's cool by me, but despite all the Mustang bashers, I get tons of compliments on my car.

Not my favorite but the Nissan 350Z is around those specs

I 'hear' you there... I still have 5-15's, and 4 or 5 amps from the car-audio hobby days (I did have much, much more). ALAS: I am getting old so I would say my music is normally in the comfy ~125DB range (Give or take 5db). On the thruway(interstate routes) though, I am willing to pay the price and its in what I would say the ~85DB range, just so I can hear my countermeasures.
As for the other aspect: luckily the girl loves my 'gadgets' (as she calls them), and yes I am talking about my police countermeasures... she wants me to get her a Bel-Vector ### for Christmas, which I will oblige.
As for the ugly thing: Again I concede they (CB antennas) don't look good, but being pulled over doesn't either...
This video is textbook on how easily 2K+ in countermeasures can be 'out-classed' by a $100countermeasure. Still trying to convince you man (though the above is true)...
PS: You are LUCKY you live in CA, in NY they would not have ANY issue with getting your speed with you coming up on a trap like that(via selective instant-on Ka), and blitzkrieg down the thruway and pull over anyone they wish in that row of cars... not limited to one car either. Don't try that 'pack' BS if you visit NY (business trip or otherwise)... just a heads up pal.

Convertible? I just looked at Nissan's website and a bone dry convertible 350Z is $36,000.

The mustang is a nice car, I would have bought one, but if I'm gonna buy a muscle car, then I want something bigger than a 4.6 V8. An N/A version of the GT500s 5.4 liter V8 would have deffinatly been acceptable, even if they only gave it 3 valves instead of 4. With the LS1s still being able to hang with new mustangs, and with the GTO bieng out, and with the Challenger that came out and the Camaro comming out, I didn't want the baby V8. Hopefully this will be a wake up call for FORD to finaly do away with the 4.6 and put something bigger in. 375bhp would suffice.

I'm not even gonna check the link out, I know about Saleen, and yes, I would love to have one, I'd also love the have the lifestyle that allowed me to buy one! It depresses me when I look at the cars I probably won't ever be able to afford.
