Picture the scenario-
One lane of a two lane highway closed. Trucker in the lane to be closed slows down to the pace of the other lane a mile back typically around another truck. This basically stops traffic at the point of the trucks, causing IMO a very dangerous situtation not to mention unnecessarily stopping traffic. Of course there is typically a mile of open space in the lane to be closed ahead of the truck, and once he gets to the merge the other trucker lets him in. Why the f**k do truckers do this? I'd typically expect better out of professional drivers. Do they think staying in the hammer lane until the merge is somehow cheating?
The alternative is everyone keeps up a reasonable pace/spacing until the merge, where everyone merges properly. All while not backing up traffic.
The reason I bring this up is it happened for like the umpteenth time to me this morning. This time it really pissed me off since the truck in front of me was a LL hog, and was a semi-dumptruck, so of course had been spraying the front of my car with rocks. After we got past the merge/construction he was moving in and out of the LL, and I strategically waited behind until I knew there was a 2+ mile hill. Right before it I passed on the right waited until I had a car on the right to block, and did what your typical idiot motorist does, stomp on the brakes. Then punched it and laughed in the mirror as he got a nice 45 mph run for the hill.... Sorry there is only one thing I hate more than LL hogs, and that's self righteous drivers (often one in the same).
