Saw this happen a couple weeks ago. It was night, cruising home on a 50MPH country road, LEO about a 1/4 mile behind me running C/O K band, as I approach a corner a car in the oncoming lane rounds the corner, as he goes by I can tell he's speeding and I can hear his rice machine screaming. As he passes the LEO he receives a quick flash of the lights.

From my experience a visual estimation is beatable in court. They are way too many variables.

In "oh sh*t" moments like that when it happens to me — usually over hills and around corners — I try not to hit the brakes either ... just let off the gas real quick, but it's hard to do since instinct is to go for the brakes. It obviously won't slow you as much nor as fast ... but at least you don't show the cop the brake lights.
I hit the button and put it into D3, which slows the car down by dropping a gear on the tranny.

That's exactly what I would do if I had the ability. I just have an auto transmition with 1st and 2nd options. I obviously can't throw it in 2nd while doing 70 mph. Just another reason to like a manual transmission.

It's very beatable, but you still have to do your homework, go to court and beat it. They officer know that too, but 95%; would just pay it and be done and the other 5% still have to make 2 trips at least to court, possibly pay a lawyer and then convince to judge or jury. They on the other hand get paid overtime to watch you jump through the legal hurdles!!
