Im looking to find anyone with a left over escort 8500 (non X50).
I've asked Roy with no luck, and chceked eBay but most of them are second hand...
Anyone know where I could pick-up a new one, or am i out of luck?

I doubt any online or other retailer will sell the previous 8500 model.
I'd keep looking on Ebay for a reputable seller, also, email or call Escort, who knows, they may have some.
Out of curiosity, why do you want the previous model?
I can guess the answer to that, because it kicks a$$! I plan on getting rid of my X50, but I will never sell my original 8500 rev 15.Originally Posted by g_jammer
Still don't understand. I had the previous ver. 8500 before getting the X50, both are the best RD's I've ever owned, but I don't get why you would ditch the X50 for the previous model?
Right now I own 3 radar detectors. The STi, X50, and original 8500. I really like the STi and original 8500 a lot, more than my X50. I'm going to sell the X50 since I like it the least. I also don't see a need for an X50 since I will still have the STi and original 8500 after I sell the X50.Originally Posted by g_jammer
Yeah, stealthJamal is right, I want it because it kicks a$$
I'll try escort, see what they say..
i picked one up from ebay for $100
I'd throw my old 8500 in the trash before I got rid of the X50.
Chris
X50 w/ pop off is an original 8500
I sold my previous 8500 on Ebay for $169 after owning it for 4 years and bought my X50 for $269 from Best Buy (on sale).Originally Posted by f_399
So I too only spent $100, except it's the latest product, .
I still have not heard any reasons why to ditch a X50 for the original 8500, other than 'it kicks a$$', which doesn't really tell me much.
The only reason I can think of myself is that it costs less than a X50 but still has excellent performance. Is this the reason for you?
