Went right past cop no alert!!! SAGINAW MICHIGAN!!!

Went right past a state trooper tonight for the second time no alert at all he was targeting with what looked to be a stalker lz1 laser gun because it looked very light weight and almost like a hand held radar. But it fit all the laser profiles my detector gave no alert at all x-50... he was completely stationary in the median with his passenger window down as to not mess up his beam.... and we don't have vascar here so... kinda limits the options and it says right on michgan.gov's site that they have lidar so.... This is the same spot my dad and me passed on the way to my brothers wedding last weekend and same cop no alert and he was targeting then to and same detector it was x-50 and it is fuctioning correctly ive checked er out!!! Anyhow he was sitting between I-675 and the bay rd / saginaw rd exit's in the median watching North Bound I-75 And i saw three other cops 2 state troopers and a county sheriff on the same stretch of highway hmm laser speed trap???? makes me wonder ???? >>>???? anyhow i was a little to late to know guess ill have to wonder?? but sure as hell seemed that way michigan seems to be heading more towards ka and laser icky shi# !!!

Laser... no detector, the V1 or X50 included (the two best in laser) are good enough for laser protection, more a less just ticket detection... if that.

That is of course unless you have Veil, LS (or better yet no front LP), a black car, a small cross-sectional targeting area for the LEO(sleek profile), pop-up headlights & very little if any chrome.

Also... its obviously not a 'cop detector', its a Radar(laser) detector... just because the LEO had the gun out... and it does not mean that he was targeting every single vehicle, maybe he was just taking some select smaples... but monitering the speed (by eyesight), for what he thought were the real-speeders.

Ya i know all that i do.......but i saw him targeting so i know he had something going on there.... im not saying for sure i know he could have just had his radar gun off but one saginaw has alot of money two .. the state police web site of michigan says that they have lidar and radar and use both but i know from personal experience that they only use it in the bigger cities which saginaw is and its highly likely cause i know the town north of them uses laser so......its possible id like to ask jimbonzzz since he is from michigan if he knows if saginaw has laser at the state police post level because i have driven past this guy way to many times and no alert so.....im just a little leary with all they things working against me and yes he may have just been sitting there i know that but the gun in his hand was on it was dark and i could see the red leds reflecting in the window that was up on his side of the car he had no passanger officer and the window for the passernger was down as to have a clear lidar beam shot ..... and it was a black gun looked just like a stalker lz1 or roughly about that look .....SO JIMBONZZZ IS THERE LASER AT THE SAGINAW AREA STATE POLICE POST AND IF SO WHAT ARE THEY RUNNING FOR GUNS???????????????????????

I know what to look for and i have to say he could have had his shi# off but he had laser what type i don't know but im postive it was laser... he had been siting there for 30 minutes atleast in the median they don't do that in michigan to scare you on i-75 they do that to write tickets..

if your x50 is mounted high, it wont go off for laser most of the time unless the LEO has really shaky hands. The V1 is th only detector I have heard of being able to detect laser even when mounted high. In all of radar roy's tests even mounted mid windsheild an x50 will only alert to laser targeting your license plate 1/3 of the time.

And to echo what everyone else said, he could have been monitering traffic visually, through the sights of his gun even (giving the impressin of actually targetting vehicles)

thus is the reason im proud of my CL (Black,Veil, no front plate, small areas of chrome, if you can even call it that, veiled anyway and X50) 307ft PT at 56mph and 466ft @ 39mph vs LTi marksman 20/20..........thus proves the effectiveness of Veil (got a Laser ticket once pre veil against LZ1 and it was a good 900ft when he got my reading..........900ft->300ft wow

Do a little test; some remote controls set off the laser alert. Take a bunch and change the channels aimed at the X-50. If one works, most likely he wasn't targeting you or the beam never came close to the laser.

well yeah, but thats why we have other countermeasures such as Veil, LS, Jammers and high end dertectors.......they all work together to help in lowering the effectiveness of the LIDAR gun.........sure, youre not completely stealth/invincible, but most of the newer high priced jammers (LPP, AL) make most cars JTG anyway.............if a cop targets you at say 1500 ft and you get a warning from the RD, then say you have Veil, I have till 300ft on the highways to slow down...... thats 1200ft of warning to slow down, if I had a jammer then I might even be able to speed past him without him geting a reading, given im not going too fast so as to arouse his attention and have him coming after me.

but otherwise against the average unprotected car, LIDAR guns are extremely fast in obtaining speed readings, I agree taht theyre accurate and quick.... thats how I got a ticket with LIDAR before I got my countermeasures the X50 only got me to look up at the LEO waving me into the shoulder..............and yes there are other places other than the plates, theres the lights, chrome grills, and other highly reflective points on the car, even the hood of a light colored car, but for the most part officers are trained to hit the plate or the headlights since those are the most reflective spots on the car

Alpinestars, try mounting your X50 midway between the dash and the mirror on the window. This should help in picking up laser on your rd. If the cop has a steady hand/or is using a tripod, good luck picking up the beam. My V1 picks up laser great! Like I suggested before to someone else, TRY RESETTING YOU X50. This never can hurt. After you reset it, you need to go into the programming options on your X50 and customize the settings. Also, make sure your windshield is clean and the lens on your X50 is clean. Buy some lens wipes at you local store. Interesting, the inside of the rd lens gets dirty sometimes too. I was amazed at how much better my X50 worked after taking it apart just to clean the inside of the lens.
