    Default x50 Good Investment?!?!?

    Hello all...

Just found the site today and I cant stop looking at it...After reading post on here and reading over the radarbusters site I figure i'd go buy the Escort x50. Now im not a long distant traveler but when I do drive I like to go fast, and when I drive to my university thats when I usually go the fastest. My last ticket was for 28 over and I absouletly cannot get another one like that. So my question to you guys, even though im not a long distance driver would you recommend the x50...If so I can just add that into my tituition fee's for fall semester lol

Im not to sure...My crappy 9700 cobra picks up a little of everything lol...I've had specter alerts, pop, vg-2 and in texas its not even illegal to have them...

But I think for sure K, Ka, X and Laser...I live in Texas San Antonio to be more specific...

Your main worries will be K and Ka and Laser here in the Lonestar State, lots of laser in the big cities especially. I have yet to run into a legit Xband trap in my wanderings through the eastern half of the state but Ive heard of it being out there, I would expect it to be more in the undeveloped hick regions of west Texas. On the interstates there is a lot of constant K and Ka(usually opposite direction moving units 34.7ghz) and if you are unlucky you may run across the one or two troopers who shoot instant on Ka so have a rabbit if you are really cruising.
    Welcome to the forum...

Think thats bad, the police in northeast texas have been starting to use F150's with a mobile KA unit on the dash. I was driving near Tyler a month ago following a nondescript F150 (tailing at about 1/2 mile using it as a rabbit ironicly enough) and kept getting brief blasts of Ka as traffic came the other way. I couldnt see a cruiser anywhere so I put the x50 in spec mode to see if it was legit, next radar hit was 34.7ghz and immediately I look up and the F150 is crossing the median and chasing down a car going the other direction meanwhile Ka has gone bannanas as it goes creaming past flashing headlights and markings on the side door were the only id as a police vehicle

I saw about 5 more before I crossed the state line in Arkansas

Ya all the new black squad cars run ka-band, havent seen which type it was or freq. But they have low profile mini light bars and 90% of them only have inside lights making them even harder to spot. They blend right in.
