    Hey guys,

I have an 06 Altima with a custom mount on my hardwired 8500x50B.
There is a mass of information here and it would be a shame for me to ignore it. You can't see it in the pics but I have it hardwired with the Direct Wire SmartCord... I just couldn’t find a good place to put the mute button so it is tucked in with the rest of the hidden wire... any suggestions? And since I took the pictures I have changed the bend point on the aluminum adapter that come with the x50 in order to angle it down further and keep it from going past the mirror any further than necessary for the buttons to be assessable. Also, what’s my best jamming solution? It looks like the Escort Zr3 Shifter is really my only option so it will interface with my X50... Is this the way to go?

I searched to see if anyone had mentioned this custom mount on here before and I didn’t see it so here is the link to where I got it: http://www.countryjoycrafts.com/Conn...arDetector.htm

I read the rules and I'm pretty sure that I have not seen a similar product to this on this site, this just compliments the products sold here.
Mod: If my link is in violation please just delete these lines rather than my entire post.

Thanks, Yes... I didn't think anybody other than Altima drivers noticed though; it’s good to know that it’s distinguishable.
Check out that link… You might have to measure your post to see which diameter you need (I needed the same as the 350z… (the 3/4th one) They have a list of the cars that they have already confirmed sizes on but…it’s not that long.

I am very pleased with mine, its really solid and after I changed the bend point on the original Escort bracket I had no vibration or angle issues at all. I’m hoping to get a little feedback from members on here about mounting position…from my view it seems to be pretty much perfect, I have much more range from the rear than I did when I just about had it mounted behind the mirror and it is easier to reach when I want to mute or hide it real quick. But I just got it two days ago and I have 5 days left to return it if I change my mind… so just trying to make sure.

    Thanks again for the compliment.

see the stalk is attached to the roof of the chasis, goes down a small ways and RIGHT INTO the RVM after a small bend, there is NO horizontal space for something like that

That's interesting. Not sure I've ever seen one like that. I test drove a TL and a TSX a few months back.. I wonder if they were like that.

they were back in the mid 90s before those fancy compass auto dimming mirrors

Bro has one in his 2000 model Celica and it WILL support that sort of mounting system, my Dad's 96 Corolla WONT

Nice car and good set up there...... itdoeskeep it out of the sun, buti still imagine it will get some sun or ithe morning or late afternoon and the heat of ya car will still have its wearand tear, but it will or i should say it should last longer.. i left my x50 on the windshield for like 13 straight months in the heat and snow and it took 13 months for me to have to send it back to replace an antenna(dont know which one)
