So I just got back from picking up a regular 8500, I got it for $50! Everything (Case, manual, smartcord) except the suction cup and the suction cup mount. I turned it on as soon as I got in the car and taped it to my gauge cluster housing. Scanning symbol, with the dot for A mode. I was disappointed when I got in my city, because I didn't run into any Leo's. But right as I get onto the main road here, I get a weak k false, then it leaves and comes back, about 3 times, then BAM full signal k. Leo running instant on on the other side of the road coming at me, a rough estimate would be about a mile, over a couple of hills. It didn't false at the little mall thing where the V1 does, so I thought it was out of tune. So far (30 min) I like it, not as much as I like the V1, I do have to say that the arrows are helpful. The expert meter is fricken cool though.
The only problems are the unit it self is a little banged up on the top, and the case has some pretty big scratches on the cover, but other than that it is great. I cant wait to find some speed signs or a speed trap.
