Escort 8500 X50 (newest Version 6.1) - Any problems...

Last week I initiated a Poll on this latest software version of the Escort 8500 X50 (Version 6.1). Surprisingly, I number of people voted they have already experienced problems with this new Version.

As a follow-up, just curious the type of problems you have had with the Version 6.1. Could you please state when you purchased this unit and if you had to send it back to Escort for repairs.

ok you had a total of 5 people vote it had problems and 3 of those are probally V1 fanatics :wink: , its the saem with the V1 polls about the E half the people that say they have the E are just Belscorts I dont think the poll was very legitimate but whoever had a "real" problem with thier escort speak up.

Excellent point...and you're probably right. If people would simply respond to just the Radar Detectors which they have owned, the information and opinions provided on this forum would be more accurate.

Interestingly enough, I noticed that you own the X50 and did own the Valentine (3.856). May I ask why you returned the Valentine in favor of keeping the X50.

well it was a Great RD and i wanted to try out all the top 3 before making my final decision but on the final day of going to return it i got that lovely E on the way to the post office. Then when i let V1 know i was returning it and trying to let them know about the E they started to treat me like crap and they acted like i did something wrong. As of right NOW i DO NOT trust them or thier product, and as of right now ive enjoyed the X50's scanning dot along with its filtering which is top notch. I went through a area that i normally had 5 falses. the X50 had one from the bank which i think even a crapra would pick up :wink: at first i thought the X50 just sucked because it wasnt picking up the normal falses, that was until i got 1.2 mi Ka range and some fun playing with laser. Both are GREAT RD but right now MY CHOICE is the X50
