I myself do not trust the Auto Mode, it seems to supress alerts a little to much for my comfort level. When in Auto, I never get FULL Alert until I'm right up on the LEO. I either drive in City Mode or Highway depending on the driving conditions. However, I mostly leave it in Highway mode to always have FULL Range. Just a note, City Mode only filters X so if you have X turned off, you should just leave it on Highway...... If I were you, I wouldn't trust Auto either..... This is just from my experience and I have been driving with the X50 for about 2 years now.Originally Posted by Joe 1

I always leave mine on HIGHWAY mode for FULL RANGE PROTECTION. Kinda bugs me when im in a city and it goes off when u pass target, then walmart, then circuit city, then best buy, then your local grocery store..But hey, i can always distinguish them from false and the real threats. !
By the way, just and FYI my escort saved me from a ticket yesterday. 50-ish mph in a 25mph zone ! I was going up a hill and my KA band was weak, so i didnt take any chances and pulled over to the side of the road..cause this guy was seriously tailgating me...and i pulled back into traffic and used him as a RABBIT ! And the dandy super trooper nailed him going probably 53 in 25mph zone !

Highway is the way to go, MAX SENSITIVITY
I use Auto when i am not on a highway and seem to have perfect detection distances with it in Auto... I use Highway for the highway..... although sometimes i do forget to turn it back to Auto when i exit the Highway, but thats neither here nor there
Sweet! Nice save dude.Originally Posted by Explorer_Vincent

I ran with Auto for almost a year then decided to change to Highway since its the less filtered. Now I never go from Highway, its the way to go. I have gotten better range with Highway. Falses dont bug me, thats when the mute button comes in handy.

Highway is the best mode, I'd rather get a false and be safe, then not get an alert and be owned
Auto mode is a convenience for new users. I wouldn't trust it on the highway. It seems to delay alerts until they reach a certain threshold and them BAM! It alerts like an instant-on situation.
It also seems to adjust itself based on recent receptions. What if you get a couple of K falses and it raises the threshold; then you only get 1 second warning for a real over the hill K radar hit? I'd rather have the weak alerts come through and judge for myself.
