    Default Laser Detection X50

Ok well, I know a lot of laser questions come up but im not sure if i seen this one posted yet so ill ask. I use the X50 and today for some reason which it never did before was almost like laser was going off constantly, laser alerts was definitely shorter than every 30 seconds before it kept constantly going off, this was city and highway driving, and I was also an 1 hour and a 1/2 drive away so I know it wasnt because the city, it did this in Pierce County and way over in Kitsap county and most of the drive the way there untill i had to shut off laser due too is consistent false alerts and annoyance, like i said this has never happened before, any thoughts, BTW, what kind of beam does the radar detector shoot out, is it laser? Can it possibly somehow reflect and target itself? or did my **** just brake down completely on laser?

    Were you near an airport?
Some Air Traffic radar in use at airports will cause laser false alerts...

The unit probably was malfunctioning and intentionally dumped by the seller who usually covers his or her butt by saying that it is being sold as is or has not been tested. If they didn't say this in the original auction page then post negative feedback on them. The unit could indeed be stolen as well. Ebay has a policy against selling stolen property. My guess is that the unit probably has the serial number somewhere on the inside too. If you send it in for repair and the original owner reported the unit as stolen, then you will have a lot of explaining to do to Escort/Beltronics and law enforcement but at least you could say you got it off ebay with proof. Not to mention you have no warranty and they may refuse to even accept it all in their service department.

Yep, sorry to say you're screwed. Should have bought from Roy. Better luck next time.

    RD + eBay = BAD

Even if it was "brand new" in a box, buying a RD off eBay you run the risk of buying it from an unauthorized dealer which means no warranty support, even with a receipt.
