Default Red Blinking Caution Light and Laser

    Has anyone experienced this?

I was driving late last night and as I approached a blinking Red
Caution light, my Laser started going off. Now, I have had Laser false
before with Police and other Emergency vehicle Lights flashing in
my direction but never with a normal caution light. The Red light
was just your normal bulb stop light. As far as speed, I was going
around 25 miles and hour when I came up on it. Any idea why this
    would happen.

    I'm running a high mount.

I've gotten some pretty weird laser falses with the X50. I'm assuming that the red light was emitting a little bit of infrared.

Red is the closest visible wave length to infrared, so it wouldn't be suprising to see a red light bulb give off some it.

You've probably seen the effects on the other side of the spectrum, ultraviolet. Black(purple) lights are so close to UV that they give a little bit of it off as well, and make things glow.

Could you tell if the blinking red light was the older bulb type or the newer, brighter LED type?

Bulb type shouldn't cause laser falses at all, since they're not pulsed (due to the filament retaining heat). LED type could cause it, if they're pulsed LEDs, but I've never had a red LED traffic light set off any of my RDs.

More likely it came from something else, maybe a laser cruise equipped vehicle coming the other way? Or a LEO you didn't see in the dark?

He said it was blinking, so that could have caused the effect. I doubt it was an actual LEO.

Laser detection is NOT that great IMHO.

It was a standard Light Bulb. We do have some LED lights on the other side of the city but this particular one was just your standard bulb.

Yeah, I thought the same and took a good look as I passed.

Ever since I moved to a high mount the X50 has given me some strange Laser falses.

some will do that, like newer GM SUVs will set off my Laser sensor, and theyre not using LEDs, just plain old incandecent bulbs.......... and since Red is the closest visible color to IR (Theus Infrared) it makes some sense to me

Same here, I have had one false from a SUV as well. I believe it
    was a Cadillac SUV.

With GM SUVs (older Envoys and Trailblazers in particular) the laser falses aren't caused by the regular taillights but by the third brakelight which is neon on those vehicles.

So far I've never had any taillights other than GM neon brakelights set off my V1.

I've actually had several falses from sunlight with my X50.

It used to also give laser alerts when i hit the horn but it has stopped that.

I should note that it's mounted on a motorcycle so it's a bit more exposed. i've even covered the "rear" laser sensor, but that didn't change much.
    Go figure?
