Default X50's Laser Tone , What I think about it

Altho the X50 has great laser detection, the tone sounds like a rusty piece of metal rubbing against another piece of metal. Especially when it's ramping down.

I wish there was a better tone for it. But either way it gets your attention.

I never heard laser yet, Is there any way for me to get a laser alert without spending time driving around everywhere to get a laser encounter or buying a laser gun?

Try your remote controls (TV, stereo etc.) Some may be able to set off your detector's laser alert.

Some EZ-Pass type toll booths, and Infinitis with laser cruise control can set your detector off.

Also, in some cases electrical noise in your car can trigger a laser alert. Try honking your horn, running the wipers, opening/closing power windows/sunroof, and see if you get "lucky". This seems dependent on the car and the X50 being used--some do it, some don't.

Find someone with a lidar gun, or an Osprey range finder.
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!

If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

Has Infiniti FX adaptive cruise control ever set off an X-50? A V1 maybe, but not others, in my experience.

None of the normal V1 laser false sources have ever set off my RX65. That's the main reason that i've been reluctant to buy a V1. I can be right behind a chevy trailblazer and not get a peep out of my RX65, same with the infinitis and neon signs.

    Default easy

Easy way to set off the laser on a Bel-Escort product is to go out by/near your local airport, and hopefully at some point your laser will go off.

Yeah, that's a bigtime false. Mid-America Airport/Scott Air Force Base sets it off for miles.
