Ka Alert Double Bogey

Was moving our cars around tonight and accidentally left my Ka radar on in my car while moving my wife's vehicle with the X50 in expert mode. I use spec all the time when i use my X50. It showed 1 bar at first then 2 bars as i got closer to my vehicle. Ka band antenna was facing forward and one antenna was only used. Did tried it the 2nd time and did the same thing. Ka radar was a kustom golden eagle and showed 35.515 in spec mode.

My x50 also ghosts on certain freqs. I almost always get a ghost for THP using KA..

I thought the X50 never ghost. But it surely did this time even at the shortest range of the golden eagle's range selector. I had a couple encounters with Ka double bogey before but could not figure it out since you won't see the frequency in expert mode and won't see the double bogey in spec mode. I thought that LEO maybe using 2 anenna's at the same time when bouble bogey Ka alert shows up in expert mode.Well, i finally found it by accident this time. If i did not do it the other night, i still won't be able to know.

Welcome to the board OOebpsi. That's where i get my double bogey too before - THP. Sometimes you'll see a 35.5 then goes to 33. plus in spec mode and that may be causing the ka double bogey. I'll thry it in spec mode next time and see what it does. I tried my V1 but will show only 1 bogey. Went to columbia a few weeks ago and my V1 showed 2 bogeys from a motorcycle COP/THP. Did not know the frequency since i did not have my X50 at that time. My X50's sunction cup sucks at this time of the year - keeps falling and i dont know how many times. I know there were several occasions it fell but so far has been working well inspite of the repeated falls. I need to buy the sun visor clip for my X50 and escort should have shoved in the visor clip worth $4.00 in the X50's box.

I too get the double bogey every time with the 35.5 eagles. In spec mode it goes from 35.515 (example) tp 33.808. (example again) Think it is a quirk of the X50 rev. 5? My V1 shows only one bogey in those same encounters. Just my .02. Scott

By the way, does anyone with Rev. 6.1 experience similar "quirks".

Scott, it could be possible. I know others have had this phenomenon getting 2 bogeys from 1 LEO encounter.

Great question. If someone is brave enough to send me their rev 6.1, i'll video both the rev 5 and rev 6.1.

Jimbonzzz, any idea why this is happening with the X50 rev 5 when it encounter's kustom eagle radar gun? Just wondered if it happens with the RX65 too.

In my town the cops all use Ka moving radar, havent ever gone in spec mode to see the frequency, but i almost always get 2 bogeys when i encounter the cops running it while moving. When they are stationary i only get 1 bogey. I am assuming that they are running 2 antenna's while moving (forward and rear). I have rev 6.1
