Has anyone tested the reaction time of the Rev 6.1?
It seems to be sluggish, but I have no way to test it.

There are videos out there where this person compares ver5 and 6 with a radar gun. Ver 6 is slower than ver5 :? Escort is got some kind filtering crap where it will not alert on weak signals :xOriginally Posted by wanderingmind
Wow, I didn't know that.
Some members even reported that sensetivity on 5 better than on 6. But escort claims that there is NO difference in sensetivity between versions. :?Originally Posted by proudNMAmember
In my opinion, I believe escort that there is NO difference in sensetivity but they might of added even more filtering to ver.6 that there is a delay before you get an alert.

I own a Red X50 (ver 5) and a blue X50 (rev 6.1). Without a shadow of a doubt, rev 5 is faster to respond. I became suspicious when I drove by a K band speed sign with Rev 6.1, and got much less range than with my Red rev 5. When I got home I pulled out my trusty Bushnell K band radar gun. Granted, this is not a police-grade speed gun, but it proves the point. With Rev 6.1 powered up, I aimed the Bushnell and held the trigger. I did this ten separate times, allowing 5 seconds between hits. Three times, the 6.1 DID NOT RESPOND for 20 seconds, with the trigger held in. The rev 5, tested in the exact same manner, alerted EVERY SINGLE TIME within 2 seconds. In disbelief, I repeated this experiment the next day, with similar results.
To give the rev 6.1 its due, it does POP false much less, and I have never had a self-cal from the rev 6.1. My rev 5 usually does the self-cal thing once a month or so, but it has never gone to service required.
One unrelated note, my rev 5 gets much hotter in operation than the 6.1, and they are both mounted in the exact same spot (only one in use at a time, of course).
Upon opening the housing, the circuitry of these two units looks completely different. For those of you that believe Escort's BS that there is no difference in sensitivity, why did they even bother to change to ver 6.1? Common sense dictates SOMETHING MUST BE DIFFERENT, otherwise there would be no logical explanation for the 6.1 to even exist. I believe KA range and POP filtering were improved on the 6.1, but at the expense of K range.
Does someone know if the RX65 has this unresponsiveness with quick trigger K or Ka?
I used to have an RX65, but never got to try out the response time. I did not "quick trigger" the gun, as if I was trying to simulate POP, but rather held in the trigger as long as was necessary to get a response from the unit. Average was 2 seconds for rev5, and anywhere from 4-20 for rev6.1. I wish I had a KA source for comparison, but in my real-world travels, I have not noticed anything out of the ordinary as with K. X band is disabled on both, I did not try it with X enabled to see if this altered the "scan time"
