beside the lockout, the mark location and the gps

hi everybody i have an rx65 version 6.5, it works good for me but i wanted to give the 9500 a try. i hear and read alot about the new truelockout and the gps and other stuff on the 9500i. i was wondering beside all that has anybody had the chance to try it yet, like ` how is the range on it, is it far is it better that the x50 or the same and the sensitivity. if someone has test all that can u please tell me thanks.

I have an RX65 right now, I also Had a V1 which I sold on e bay. My 9500 will be here shortly, awaiting UPS. I'll post a review and my finding shortly.

The 9500i is on par with the X50 (That's what Escort told me)...The only "tweak" that was done is in the detection of laser...The range on radar is great and the laser detection works VERY well..

Here's the actual text from Escort on their 9500i...

"The PASSPORT 9500i's radar sensitivity has been optimized to improve response time and accuracy including the addition of Ku-band for European travelers. ESCORT's superior Laser circuitry has also been improved through the use of multiple high-performance laser sensors and ESCORT's proprietary software."

I kinda have the feeling that it does have better range than the X50, but I'm just going by what the rep told me..I know for a fact the laser detection is superior..I feel that it is good as, if not better than the V1

You are in a dream world if you think any detector even comes close to the V1 in laser detection.

Ummm....ok....Does it really matter anyways??? :roll: And how do you know this for sure???I don't really care if it is or not..If your hit with laser, that's it..Your caught..I never once picked up scatter from another car being hit with laser while using the V1 like everyone claims...Not saying it dosen't, but I have been hit with laser a bunch of times and they all were direct hits..Never from scatter from the car in front of me... Oh wait, let me guess, another V1 fanboy..

Honestly, I'm expecting an X50 with GPS lockout and a few more goodies. That's all. If the upcoming GOL tests show it to be better than the X50, awesome. It'll still be my city unit unless it's proven to outperform the V1, which I don't expect it to do...but until the tests come back.....

I find it hard to believe the 9500i will detect radar further than the V1. It should be close but not further.

I drive mostly in suburban to urban areas. With this in mind, I prefer the 9500i's TrueLock feature to block out the many door openers and traffic light changers I encounter on a daily basis.
