Default Smart Cord Causing Service required?

I have an 8500 X50. A while ago the light on my smart cord that indicated the unit was on stopped lighting up, the alert light still works, but the "on" light does not. It seems that after a few times of the unit being turned on and off it goes into "Self Calb" mode then it displays "Service Required". If I wait a few days and plug it back in and turn it on, everything is fine for a while. Then it does the same thing. Could the smart cord be causing this? Please advise

I doubt the cord is the problem.

You most likely need to send it to Escort for service. My 8500 did the same thing. I thought it was heat related at the time.

The Smart Cord Power ON indicator will only activate if the X50 is operating. If your ON indicator (Green LED) isn't lit, the X50 has suffered a hardware failure and it needs to be serviced.

Make sure you send the SmartCord back along with the X50.

ok, it could be a Blue LED.......... and theres no way this is causing a problem, it could well be that LED burned out, sure thats VERY rare for LEDs, but it happens, try another cord and see what happens

Update, I sent the detector back to the factory yesterday. I will let everyone know what happens. Anyone know what the turn around time is?
