    Default X50 late warning

I have had my X50 for about 2 months now and I have to say that I am not too impressed. A lot of late warnings which gave me barely enough time to slow down. Sometimes it works great, sometimes it sucks....defective unit? or is that just how the X50 is?

    Default depends

You could be getting hit w/ instant on radar which will reduce the range drastically?

I agree with proudNMAmember, More than likely your being targeted by " Instant On ".

With " Instant On " the officers Radar Gun doesn't emit any signal
until he pulls the trigger. Once he's pulled the trigger he has already
obtained your speed. The only thing you can hope for in these cases
is that he shots a few cars ahead of you and the sensitivity of your
detector picks it up from a good distance away before he targets you.

Just Remember: " When in the lead, Don't speed "

I guess you could be right... I just dont think that they would use instant on in my town... small town... RD is illegal... They do have KA radar though which makes it even more difficult to pick up.

If I'm correct, all Radar Units are " Instant On " capable now days.
Chances are their units have this feature. They can use them in
either mode " Constant On " or " Instant On "

Since Detectors are illegal where your located they really wouldn't
have a reason to use " Instant On " but I'm sure they have a choice
    on the Radar Unit.

I know that IO is capable with all radar nowadays. I did a ride along two months ago with one of the city's police officers... it was fun... we would sit on the side of the road and radar from the front and behind. He could put his radar on hold and then turn it on, but he never did that... he would just leave it on.... so I don't think they would use instant on, cause they probably are not too worried about RD's in these little towns.

    Bear-Tweezy,
You make a good point. The X50 does have a slight Performance issue
around curves and hills with KA: 35.5

Now on a straight road it does pretty well.
