    Default New 9500i Owner

Just switched from my 8500 X50 to the 9500i.

Not sure why they decided to move the power jack from the right to the left?? A bit annoying seeing how i had my X50 hard wired to sit right to he left of my review mirror. Not a big deal though. Unplugged the X50 and plugged the 9500i right in without a problem.

WE WANT SOFTWARE! I can't wait till I can plug the thing into my pc configure settings and plugin speed camera map points.

So POP is off by default? Why? Do i need to turn it on?

    Thanks

Where did you purchase the unit? I looked on radar roy's site and saw that only pre-ordering was going on. Is there any way of getting one sooner?

Yeah I figured that out; I purchased one. I'm about to be going on a road trip in the up coming weeks so hopefully I'll have some good feedback about it in a little.

From what I understand, the 9500i is a pretty nifty product. Hope it meets your expectations and you enjoy it.

Just got mine last Friday. Switched from an 8500 (pre-X50). 8500 went to the wife and will sell the old 6800 she was using in a garage sale.

I received my 9500i today and took it for a little spin. I'm running it in highway mode, gps on but nothing locked out. My first impressions are it is a very quiet detector. It alerts to K band door openers but not until you're very close 300ft or so when the detector is on a side street running parallel to the door openers. When I turned into the Lowes parking lot, at 300 ft or so I only received 2 bars of K band strength. As I approached the door openers the strength meter did ramp up. My old Valentine v1.7 on "L" would alert at this Lowes store about 600-800 yards sooner.
As of yet I can't verify any LEO encounters so I can't comment on it's performance in this area.
I will be testing the 9500i against a 6 month old V1 that my buddy is loaning me and I will keep the forum informed of my unscientific results. Please remember that these are My findings only.
Almost forgot, there is a place where my old V1 would get a laser alarm every time and the 9500i was quite.
