I have been lurking on this website for about a few months now, and I finally joined because of this post.
I just recently used my Best Buy extended warranty to exchange my 2 year old x50 (purchased march 2005) for a new x50. My old x50 was probably a rev5 and started showing "service required" messages once every week these past few months. I got tired of resetting it and decided it was time to exchange.
Unknowingly, I exchanged it for a new one that turned out to be a rev6. My rev6 isn't as sensitive as my rev5, and I actually don't feel as confident/safe while driving as I used to with my rev5.
My impressions of rev5 over last 2 years:
+longer range in detection
+alerts are faster/quicker
+better rear detection
My impression of rev6 after 3 weeks:
-seems to take longer to detect
-not as sensitive as rev5
+suction cups have better build quality (maybe it's in my head)
If I had an opportunity, I would gladly like to go back to Best Buy and get my service required x50 rev5 back. Does anybody else notice this? I have spent the last few hours using the search function of this forum.
