Default 9500i and some guidance for those on the fence...

In my experience and from others here, it appears that a good rule of thumb for those that are unsure about whether to order or not is...

    1. If you are a V1 user and like your V1, you MAY not like the 9500i.

    2. If you are an 8500 X50 user and like your X50, you MAY like the 9500i.

    3. If you have never tried the V1 or STi, you MAY like the 9500i.

    4. If your travel is primarily "city" with a lot of "non-LEO" alerts, you MAY like the 9500i.

    5. Finally, if your travel is primarily "Interstate", you MAY not like the 9500i if compared to the V1 or STi.

    6. If "stealth" is essential, then you MAY want to pass on the 9500i and go with the STi as the primary choice, with the V1 second.

Not trying to be mean here:

What does #6 have to do with Escort (as that is the forum section you posted this in), let alone the 9500i and wether or not to buy it?

Your other points are good... and this is a good post from you, but the last one came from left field it seems?

#1 and #5 "...you will not like..." How do you know? Maybe in YOUR experience but not everbody is you.

The other assumptions are not dogmatic in nature, so they are more "pallatable."

    Default I thing

Air, I think what he is referring to is that the 9500i can be seen by the Spectre. In terms of stealth, Bel STi is #1, and the V1 is #2.

I understand what he is trying to say (like I get his point)... but what does that have to do with the 9500i at all, why say it?

Someone who considers spending ~500dollars on a radar detector, better know that they are obviously not getting a Spectre Proof STi, but rather the 9500i which simply boasts the GPS capabilities.

I don't know, it kind of just threw me for a loop there, it really seemed out of left field for me to make the statement?

Ok. First as noted above "In my experience and from others here" means just that. I'm stating only observations that myself and others have had with the 9500i, V1 and STi. This isn't "Fact" or "Gospel", just "my experience" and "others".

Second. The reference about "stealth" was only implying that if you need to keep your RD a secret from the LEO's (Virginia), then the 9500i has too big of a footprint (detectability).

Only trying to offer some guidance here for others considering the 9500i. "Guidance", not hard core rules.

    Geeeez...

Don't take it personally, people love to nitpick. Better still they love to repeat what has been said, worded slightly differently.

wanderingmind was just stressing out the one's quoted " you will not". There was no mention of " you may not " by scott in his original posting. If you noticed, scott edited his first post once by changing it to " may " in bold letters. A quoted of the original posting can be seen after the original posting was made done by scott himself.
