Default x50 Plastic covering in front

WHATEVER you call it. Where the RD actaully scans.

    Is number 1 laser?

And also I have a tiny scratch on the #1 plastic covering.. you think this may effect picking anything up?

After examining the internal pictures, #1 is laser and #2 is radar. I don't think tiny scratches will affect your laser detection.

Yea, you can really tell with an IR camera. It'll let you "see" inside. I think a flash picture taken directly infront will also be helpful.

Oh, just saying you can really see the inside(laser sensor and inside of radar reciever) with a bright flash or an IR camera. Not that it would really be helpful, more of a FYI.

Looks like the new antenna is a POS compared to the older one?

Some forum members have commented that the newer horns have slightly less K band sensitivity yet have slightly better Ka band sensitivity -- or is it the other way around? Anyway, the newer and smaller horns should allow Bel's and Escort's radar detectors to get smaller in the future.

Another interesting observation is the size differences between the Escort and the Bel of the RF shielded chambers for the laser diodes. I recall that the X50 has somewhat better laser detection compared to the Bel?

    Nice pick up.
For me, I have the older x50, K band is awesome. Not so much Ka band.
I have not used rev 6.1 yet so I can't tell you which is better but I absolutly love K band, and ka band aint too hot.
