Hmm, I see that the original Escort X50 and the Bell V9XX/RX65 rev 4.5 S7 models use the exact same horn assembly:

And it is obvious that the new X50s and latest Bels are using a more compact horn assembly:

Some forum members have commented that the newer horns have slightly less K band sensitivity yet have slightly better Ka band sensitivity -- or is it the other way around? Anyway, the newer and smaller horns should allow Bel's and Escort's radar detectors to get smaller in the future.
Another interesting observation is the size differences between the Escort and the Bel of the RF shielded chambers for the laser diodes. I recall that the X50 has somewhat better laser detection compared to the Bel?
