Default True lock on 9500i My testing. Bad news

I want to love this Detector . BUT The town I live in Ofallon Mo. The cops here use Ka. There are two cars that have a kustom K band hand held on the dash. (Ofallonx50) can confirm this. Anyway to day I followed around this cop with His K band on constant on. When we got to an area that I locked out his K band was locked out also for about 1/2 mile. After I left the lock out zone The 9500i went full alert :x About 2 miles later the same thing a locked out spot no alert. In the locked out area I did turn the gps off. Again full alert.
This really sucks!! I called escort about this and she told me The 9500i only locks out the frequency. She said if the door is 24.5 and the cop is 24.6 the radar will alert. I told her that a few people have had this problem That I talked with over the internet. She said she talks to people all day and this problem has never came up. Same with the ramp up problem never had a compliant. Ya right!! I know my 9500 locks out the entire K band.
So what do you all think?
    Thanks matt

the 9500 is supposed to lock out a specific frequenc of the k band also based on the gps location and how many signals. So i lock out one k band false signal and tomorrow pass that spot with a leo shooting k band radar the 9500 should alert because now there is 2 signals detected and u only lock out one. however the 9500 is not doing this. What it is doing is locking out all k band signals at that specfic spot.

Ya escort knows there are problems just not telling us. Just maybe a software update will help this? Everyone having this problem should call once a week. I believe most do not work the way they say. It should be an easy fix.

I sent mine back. I am not going to be a beta tester for them. Bad enough we do it everyday for Microsoft.

If the 9500i works as advertised, sometime in the future, I will purchase one again. For now, it isn't worth the risk if it will really work in a TrueLocked area.

Yes escort knows but you aren't asking the right people. You're asking the escort people who don't know so of course they aren't going to be able to tell you the problems. I am almost positive this is the case, there's no way the real people at escort don't know what the "issues" are.

I don't know about that...I think they know...but really, what do you expect them to say? "Yeah, we know it doesn't work as advertised...send it back." Would be nice, but IRL won't happen.....

Yea, when I called last week to tell them I wanted to send my unit back the lady on the phone asked why and I explained to her how it was locking out signals that should not be locked out.
She argued with me that the unit is working correctly and it will only lock out a specific signal. She acted like I was dumb and it offended me to be honest. I'm paying $450 for something thats not doing as advertised and then they act like I'm the idiot. Yea, I guess I am for trying out their overpriced gimmick. Sheesh!

This was my first ever detector and overall I liked the build quality of the unit and some of the other features but was not impressed about the lockout function. I sent it back and have decided to try the V1. Much more sensitive too, I have to say.
