My buddy came by tonigt and did a spur of the monent thing. Tested the RD's over the hill with the golden eagle in stationary mode.
9500i = 0.4 mile
V1 = 0.3 mile
X50 = 0.3 mile
V1 and X50 were neck to neck here.
Second test 9500i vs V1. We wanted to see which radar detector detects a signal more constantly and consistently. This particular test was video'd to back up our test .Both were not powered at the same time and both RD's were side to side of each other. We drove slow with the 9500i until we got the first alert and stopped. The 9500i was contantly giving the Ka band alert. Switched the plug to the V1 and waited. There was pure silence.The plug(cord) i used was for the V1. Switched the plug back to the 9500i. As soon as the sat icon stopped, the 9500i alerted to Ka band. I did switch it back to the V1 and only got 2 beeps and went silent - waited to see if it will pick up an alert after some time but there was none. Switched back the plug to the 9500i and as soon as the sat icon stopped, it alerted to Ka band. I have done some test with both RD's on at the same time and showed similar results with 35.5 where the 9500i almost always alert me first before the V1. I have posted some findings in the past with the 9500i ability to pick up Ka band in 35.5hz at a farther distance thsn the V1.
This clearly shows that the 9500i is a contender contrary to what others where saying about it when it comes to Ka band and is this test, the 9500i beat the V1
